The short version: Dialback collects only what it needs to run its website and text-back services. It never sells your information, never shares mobile numbers for marketing, and only shares data with the providers needed to run the services.
1. Who we are
Dialback LLC ("Dialback," "we," "us") is a Michigan limited liability company that provides website builds, website hosting & care, and a missed-call text-back service for local businesses. This policy covers dialback.net and the Dialback services. Our Terms of Service explain how the services work.
2. Information we collect
From visitors to dialback.net
Anything you choose to send us through a contact or sign-up form, email, call, or text, such as your name, business name, phone number, email address, and message.
Basic technical information your browser sends automatically when loading any website, such as your IP address and browser type, which our web host and font provider may log.
From Dialback customers
Business and contact details: business name, owner or contact name, business phone number, mobile number, email, address, and hours.
Content you provide for your website, such as photos, logos, reviews, and service descriptions.
Billing details, which are entered directly into Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
Information needed to register your business with phone carriers for texting (for example, A2P 10DLC registration).
From people who call or text a Dialback customer
The caller's phone number, the time of the missed call, and the automatic text sent in response.
Any replies sent to the business's Dialback number, which are delivered to that business.
From visitors to customer websites we host
Messages submitted through a site's contact form, which are forwarded to that business.
3. How we use it
To provide, run, and support our services, including building and hosting websites and sending automatic text-backs.
To respond to your questions and requests.
To bill customers and manage subscriptions.
To register customers with phone carriers and meet carrier and legal requirements.
To prevent spam, fraud, and misuse, and to fix problems.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for our own advertising.
4. Who we share it with
We share information only with the service providers needed to run Dialback, and only what each one needs:
Stripe — payment processing and billing.
Twilio — phone numbers, call forwarding, and text messaging.
Phone carriers — delivering texts and business registration for texting.
Netlify Forms — receiving messages sent through the contact form on dialback.net and on customer websites we host, so they can be delivered to the business they're meant for.
Caller information and form messages are also shared with the Dialback customer whose business was contacted, since delivering them is the purpose of the service.
We may also disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Dialback, our customers, or others. If Dialback LLC is sold, merged, or reorganized, information may be transferred as part of that change, under this same policy.
5. How it's shared
Information is sent to these providers electronically, over encrypted (HTTPS/TLS) connections, through their secure systems and accounts. Each provider handles the data under its own privacy and security terms. We share only the information a provider needs to perform its part of the service.
6. Text messaging
Dialback's text-back service sends one automatic reply to a person who called a business and wasn't answered. It is not used for marketing.
You can reply STOP at any time to stop receiving automated texts from that number, and HELP for help. Message and data rates may apply.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging opt-in data and consent are never shared with any third parties.
7. How we protect it
Reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, such as account passwords and the security features our service providers offer, to protect the accounts that run our services.
Access to customer and caller data is limited to Dialback's owner and the service providers listed above.
HTTPS encryption on dialback.net and every website we host.
Payment card details are handled only by Stripe, which is certified to industry payment security standards.
We do not ask for passwords or full card numbers by text or email.
No system is perfectly secure. If we learn of unauthorized access to personal information, we will notify affected people and customers promptly and as required by Michigan law.
8. How long we keep it
We keep information only as long as needed to provide the services, meet legal, tax, and carrier requirements, and resolve disputes. Call and text records are deleted or anonymized within a reasonable time after a customer cancels. Billing records are kept as required for tax purposes.
9. Cookies and tracking
dialback.net does not use advertising or analytics cookies and does not track you across other websites. Stripe's checkout pages may use cookies needed for secure payments and fraud prevention, under Stripe's own privacy policy. If we ever add analytics, we will update this policy first.
10. Your choices
You can ask to see, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you by emailing hello.dialback@gmail.com. We may keep some records where required by law.
Reply STOP to any Dialback automated text to opt out.
If you're a caller or form submitter for one of our customers, you can also contact that business directly.
11. Children
Dialback's services are for businesses and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
12. Changes and contact
We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top shows when it last changed, and we'll notify customers of significant changes.
